Amanda Jacobs Commits to Attend and Play Soccer at Asbury University

ROCKFORD, Ill., May 22, 2014 /Standard Newswire/ -- At a special ceremony at Christian Life High School, Amanda signed a letter of commitment to play soccer at Asbury University in Wilmore, KY. Amanda will attend Asbury University in the fall and begin training with the soccer team this summer.
Ms. Jacobs was a four year starter as defender on the Christian Life High School varsity team and was named Second Team All-Conference this year in the Northeastern Athletic Conference in Illinois. In her final game for Christian Life in the IHSA regional playoffs, she scored a left-footed goal as defender in the 2-1 loss to Rockford Lutheran.
Amanda is an honors student and athlete with a 3.72 GPA and a member of the National Honors Society. She is also played basketball, managed varsity football, and served on the Student Council and Key Club at Christian Life High School. She volunteers in the community helping children with special needs ride horses at BraveHearts Therapeutic Riding & Educational Center in Poplar Grove. She is also a volunteer with ServeFest and Love, Inc in Rockford, Illinois and has served on two Rockford First mission trips to Detroit and tornado victims in the southern U.S.
At Asbury, Amanda plans to study for a double major in psychology/counseling and equestrian management to continue helping children with equestrian therapy and counseling support.
