MESA, Arizona, Nov. 24 /Standard Newswire/ -- Doctors Scott Miritello, D.C. and Jeff LaVoy, M.D., of Central Mesa Medical, are once again holding their annual toy drive for the Child Crisis Center. Now in its 25th year of working to prevent neglect and child abuse, The Child Crisis Center's emergency shelters and other programs have helped over 11,400 children escape abusive homes.

The mission and purpose of the Child Crisis Center is to prevent child abuse by educating families, offering support and intervention when needed. The center provides a safe environment for children of abuse and neglect to heal and grow; raises community awareness about the problem of child abuse; and attempts to set the standard for similar organizations and shelters to follow.

Every holiday season for the past 18 years, Dr. Scott Miritello, in conjunction with Dr. Jeff LaVoy, has held a toy and food drive to benefit the Child Crisis Center. Patients bring in canned goods, new toys or monetary donations in exchange for free or reduced-price services at Central Mesa Medical. The drive has been met with great enthusiasm in the past and Dr. Scott Miritello hopes it will be a success once again this year.
