ALBUQUERQUE, N.M, July 28, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — Many Christian books on miracles dwell on the individuals involved as if they were almost super-heroes. God’s power is available to all who believe. We see many Christian books on faith, love, goodness, overcoming evil and other subjects. Relatively few dwell on hope and its power.
“Hope Dances in the Dark” is an invitation to follow the trail of hope and courage in peoples’ hearts in multiple countries through wars, disasters, victories and the passage of time. Witness the flaming torch of their spirits and explore the vast world of the miraculous stories, including healing, protection, supernatural provision, return to life of those dead for extended hours, and miracles even occurring through nature and animals. Each chapter ends with Words of Wisdom.
From two American families that fought in every American war since 1776, comes the physician, soldier and now author, Dr. Debra Cole. From the inspiring examples of numerous noble ancestors Debra undoubtedly drew strength and tells some of their stories here. The narrative continues of Debra’s struggles in the 1980’s as one of few women in medicine and the military at that time; and a career that spanned though the second decade of the 21st century in thirty countries, American emergency rooms and multinational clinics. The book’s common themes are the encounters with the supernatural that have no plausible, scientific or natural explanation.
Author, Debra Cole was born at Ellington Air Force Base in Galveston, Texas. Her childhood was spent in southwest Arkansas in a small town called HOPE. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, and received a Doctorate of Medicine in 1982 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Debra entered the Arkansas Army National Guard as a medical officer in 1980. Her residency in internal medicine was done at City of Faith Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. She is Board Certified in internal medicine. She reached the rank of Major at Tripler Army Medical Center. She currently resides in Las Cruces, New Mexico, with her husband Gary Morton.
