SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., April 12, 2018 /Standard Newswire/ -- The focus of an upcoming episode of the Eternal Word Television Network's (EWTN) "Church Universal" television program will be Worldwide Marriage Encounter's 50th Anniversary Convention.

The 30-minute show will air three different dates and times beginning April 29 at 5:00 p.m. ET.  Additional airings of the episode, which is shown worldwide, will be on May 1st at 5:00 a.m. ET and May 2nd at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The shows' host, Fr. Joseph Mary, MFVA, will be interviewing Peter & Sheila Oprysko and Fr. Tom Griffith, SVD, the WWME ecclesial chairs of the 50th Anniversary Worldwide Marriage Encounter Convention.  The convention leadership will discuss the various aspects of the now sold out convention.

"It was an honor and a blessing to be featured on Church Universal with Fr. Joseph Mary.  The show allowed us to provide insights into the various aspects of the upcoming convention," the convention chairs said.

The Opryskos and Fr. Griffith also pointed out that because the convention was sold out four months before the actual conference, it was decided that the convention will be live streamed across the world as a very inexpensive pay per view activity.  The convention will be held June 22 to June 24 in Lombard, IL.

The 50th anniversary convention show, which was taped last year in Irondale, AL, the headquarters for the EWTN studios, will focus on various aspects of the upcoming event.  EWTN, the original Catholic television network, broadcasts its shows to 140 countries and millions of viewers across the world.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter has been offering weekend experiences for over 50 years and is considered the original faith-based marriage enrichment program. The programs are continually updated to keep abreast of changes in society, and WWME now offers evening and half-day programs that are presented at parishes and other church facilities. The weekend program, traditionally presented as an overnight experience at a hotel or retreat center, can also be presented at facilities where the couples return to their homes in the evenings. WWME has a presence in almost 100 countries, which makes it the largest pro-marriage movement in the world.  In North America, the WWME programs are presented in English, Spanish, French, and Korean languages.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter offers married couples the opportunity to spend time together away from the busyness of the world to focus on each other. It offers tools for building and maintaining a strong, Christian marriage in today's world.
