UNIONDALE, N.Y., July 10, 2014 /Standard Newswire/ -- The Foundation of Hope and Health in Haiti (FHHH) is pleased to announce it has received a $300,000.00 grant through the generous sponsorship of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF). The goal of this grant is to address the overwhelming need for basic healthcare in the poorest areas of Haiti. These funds will support the Foundation's project of decreasing infant and maternal mortality and improving children's health in the communities of Ile a Vache and Carries (Arcahaie), and will allow us to increase and intensify our civic and medical efforts in these areas.

Through increase immunization, school health programs and treatment of chronic and acute illnesses, this project's main objective is to focus on the health of children with the goal of improving their health status which will result in increased school retention and performance. By targeting children pre birth and those attending local schools for comprehensive primary care as a mean to improve school retention and performance, FHHH can serve as a model that can be replicated in other underserved areas.
