SAN DIMAS, Calif., March 29, 2018 /Standard Newswire/ -- Christian Community Credit Union's Board of Directors has named Doug Martinez as President/CEO effective February 12, 2018. Martinez succeeded John Walling, who retired in 2017 after serving 45 years, including 39 years as President/CEO.

"We're thankful Doug considered this opportunity to help grow the Credit Union. He brings strong leadership and management background," said Mike Pate, Board Vice-Chair/Search Committee Chair. The committee engaged Halftime Talent Solutions for a nationwide CEO search. "With Doug's first-hand knowledge, expertise, and network within the church and parachurch community, he'll give innovative leadership to staff and board in fulfilling the Credit Union's unique mission of partnering with members and ministries to help them become better stewards and achieve their financial goals."

Martinez began his career with American Standard, Inc. where he held several management positions including Managing Director of a $100 million international business segment. In 1987, he was recruited as VP of Sales/Marketing by Price Pfister Inc. During his nine-year tenure, the company grew from $75 million in annual revenue to over $350 million and was sold to Black & Decker. He became its Executive VP/Managing Director. After retiring from Price Pfister in 1995, Martinez founded a privately-held investment company.

"Doug brings strong marketplace experience with deep understanding for churches/ministries and their unique leadership and financial challenges," said John Pearson, Board Chair. "Our Board prayed and searched for God's person. We're unanimous in our decision that Doug will give our Credit Union growth, discernment, and creative leadership. We're pleased and enthusiastic about the years ahead."

Martinez previously owned CrossSection Ventures, a media company that provides strategy, brand development, publishing, film creation, graphic design, and development for ministries and nonprofits. His acumen in market positioning enabled the company to serve more than 250 clients since its founding in 2005. He's a graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a focus in Finance/Marketing. He directed various for-profit and nonprofit entities. Presently, he's a board member of Medical Teams International, Urban Promise International and President's Advisory Board for Point Loma Nazarene University. Doug and his wife, Sheryl, have three adult children and were recently blessed with their first grandchild.

Christian Community Credit Union has $650 million in assets and over 30,000 members nationwide. Since 1957, the Credit Union serves as a financial partner of Christian ministries, churches, and their members.
