Pro-Life Coalition to Call for Harris County District Attorney, Devon Anderson, to Drop Indictments Against David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt

Contact: Rev. Patrick Mahoney, 540-538-4741

WASHINGTON, Feb. 3, 2016 /Standard Newswire/ -- Groups to have a news conference and vigil in which they will present 100,000 petitions gathered by Lifesitenews.com from all across the nation calling for Ms. Anderson to drop all the charges and affirming their support of Daleiden's work in exposing Planned Parenthood.

The news conference and witness will be on Thursday, February 4, at 11:00 A.M. at the office of the Harris County District Attorneys office which is located 1201 Franklin St., Houston, Texas.

The groups will then go to Suite #600 to present the petitions.

The coalition will be sharing their concerns and reasons why they believe these indictments are politically motivated and discussing future actions.

 Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition in Washington, D.C. states;

    "It is deeply troubling when a public district attorney uses their position and influence for political purposes.  Sadly, that is what District Attorney Anderson has done.  It is laughable and embarrassing that the third largest county in America would impanel a grand jury and spend thousands of dollars to bring charges carrying a 20 year jail sentence for an invalid driver's license which was used for an undercover journalistic story.

    "The situation becomes even worse when one considers the grand jury never even voted on the investigation into the sale of baby body parts by Planned Parenthood.  In light of this, the question must be asked did District Attorney Anderson even investigate Planned Parenthood or simply launch  a politically motivated attack against David Daleiden and the pro-life community?

    "These 100,000 petitions represent only a small percentage of our movement and Americans that are standing in solidarity in David Daleiden.  We are calling upon the District Attorney to immediately drop these indictments and end this "political witch hunt" against journalists that are working to uncover the truth about Planned Parenthood."
