PAC Denounces Ad Campaign Against Randall Terry; Distributes Rebuttal Letter to Sen. Jim King's 'Lies and Distortions'

Contact: William Greene, RightMarch.com PAC, 877-266-6596, rightmarch-pr@rightmarch.com

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 25 /Standard Newswire/ -- William Greene, President of the conservative online political action committee RightMarch.com PAC, today denounced the scurrilous ad campaign recently launched by friends of Florida Senator Jim King against District 8 challenger Randall Terry.

“The lies and distortions put out by this ‘front’ organization are nothing but libelous and slanderous,” said William Greene, President of the RightMarch.com PAC. “Jim King and his friends are obviously getting desperate – a sure sign that he recognizes the fact that he’s losing to Randall Terry.”

According to news reports in the St. Augustine Record, Randall Terry plans to file a libel lawsuit against the “North Florida Leadership Coalition Inc.” of Jacksonville, the group responsible for running the attack ads. According to the state’s Division of Corporations, the coalition’s only officer is Richard E. Coates, a Tallahassee attorney who is on retainer with the Republican Party of Florida. Coates registered the coalition on Aug. 14 and disbanded it Thursday, state records show. Those records indicate that the coalition’s incorporation date was one day after state Sen. Jim King, the District 8 incumbent, had a 22-page civil complaint against Terry dismissed by a judge.

Florida campaign law specifies that you’re only allowed to access the addresses that these were mailed to if you’re a candidate,” said Greene. “The law also says that you’re required to place a disclaimer on your ads – which this group failed to do as well. But most of all, this ad campaign is so full of lies, that we felt compelled to distribute a rebuttal to all of the charges as widely as possible; so, we’re mailing that rebuttal to every one of our thousands of members in that area.”
