Church Celebrates 100 Years of Ministry

WICHITA, Kan., Sept. 1, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ -- Meridian Avenue Baptist Church, located at 200 N. Meridian in Wichita, KS, will host a weekend celebration of its 100th anniversary at the end of this month. This neighborhood church is known for its tan-colored brick and unique structure due to the additions made over the years. The Christian values of providing God’s love through fellowship, music, and mission work have sustained MABC for more than a century and many years to come.

The Centennial Celebration kicks off with an All-Ages Youth Reunion Pizza Party from 5pm-8pm on Saturday, September 27. Any person who participated in the MABC Youth Group is invited to attend.

Sunday, September 28 will begin with a Celebration Breakfast from 9am-10:15am, followed by a Special Worship Service from 10:30am-11:45am. Many special guests from MABC’s past will participate in celebrating the blessings God has given to the church over the last century. A Neighborhood Celebration & Cookout is scheduled from 3:00pm-8:00pm and will take place outside next to the church parking lot. Church tours, food, music, and inflatables will be available for all to enjoy.

Meridian Avenue Baptist Church is an affiliate of American Baptist Churches of the Central Region (ABCCR). The church’s mission is to experience God, grow in faith, and to serve others. Sunday morning worship begins at 10:30am. Other services offered are: Life Studies on Sunday mornings at 9:10am and, beginning September 10, Family Night activities on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm which will start with a church-provided meal followed by Awana and Youth for the kids, Mom’s Group and Bible Study for the adults at 6:30pm.
