Prayer Partners Remain at the Heart of Trinity Broadcasting Network's Mission Success

Contact: Colby May, TBN, 202-544-5171, cmay@tbn.org

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14, 2012 /Standard Newswire/ -- It started nearly 40 years ago with one small UHF station on the air a couple of hours each night, and a dream to reach the world for Christ through the medium of television. Today Trinity Broadcasting Network spans the world with a family of eighteen 24-hour networks, nearly 20,000 television and cable affiliates worldwide, online and smart phone access, and tens of millions of viewers on every inhabited continent. But the mission remains the same, and a major key to its success is TBN's prayer ministry.

"From the first night we were on the air, May 28, 1973, we had prayer partners manning our phones," recalled TBN's founder and president Dr. Paul Crouch. "And from that night to the present these faithful volunteers continue to be among the busiest people in our studios, as they pray for scores of individuals each day in need of salvation, healing, financial miracles, restored relationships, and so much more."

Donna Recinos, who has helped man TBN's prayer center for several years, noted that in the past two months alone TBN's prayer partners have fielded some 200,000 prayer requests, led nearly 2,000 individuals to faith in Christ, and taken almost the same number of reports from people calling to praise the Lord for answered prayer. "Every day callers give us detailed praise reports of family members coming to Christ, of miraculous healings, of new jobs and financial miracles, and even of God saving their homes from foreclosure," she said. "Every member of TBN's prayer team can recount stories that clearly show God is moving in people's lives through TBN. And they all agree that there is no greater honor than to be part of that process."

TBN Vice President Matt Crouch said that as TBN reaches its 40th anniversary in May 2013, its most noteworthy milestone is represented by the more than 36 million individuals who have come to faith in Christ through the ministry of TBN. "A good share of those have come through the efforts of our prayer partners," he said. "When we stand before the throne of God in eternity, those who are there with us will be what matters. We're praying for many millions more before that day."
