The case, Burwell v. Hobby Lobby, concerned the Obama Administration’s rules that would have forced business owners to fund abortion-inducing drugs in violation of their Christian conscience. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Hobby Lobby upholding the religious liberties of business people to practice their faith at work.
The Outstanding Christian Service Award is inspired by a quote from Daniel Webster, who represented Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate during the first half of the 19th century, argued 223 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, and served as Secretary of State in the administration of three Presidents.
