Morocco and RFK/IWMF: The Lost Love
Contact: Mourad Beni-ich, 571-214-0842
VIENNA, Va., July 29, 2013 /Standard Newswire/ -- A non-governmental organization (NGO) is any non-profit, voluntary citizens' group which performs a variety of service and humanitarian functions, and monitors policies and encourage political participation through provision of information.
Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights (RFK Center) along with International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) have been monitoring the developments of the conflict in the Southern Territories of Morocco.
Both NGOs made several trips to Southern Morocco and witnessed the tremendous changes in every city and how the government invested millions of Dollars to develop the region and promote a decent life for the Sahraouis and create jobs' opportunities for the local populace, yet these two NGOs decided to align with the separatists and their reports have always been biased and never reflected reality on the ground.
The IWMF hosted a panel discussion in Washington on Thursday July 25th under the theme of "rights, resources and refugees: stories about the impasse of Western Sahara issue,' and during which, many attendees confessed they have NEVER visited Tindouf camps, and yet they expect their reports to be credible. They neglected what many international organizations have stated how the "Polisario" Front became the main provider for terrorists to Al-Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), on top of its involvement in drug and human trafficking, and the whole world watched its mercenaries fighting alongside the late Gadhafi of Libya, who supported their cause and financed them. After his death, the Front's policies became hazy, and is making every effort to sabotage the Moroccan proposal to solve the conflict and which is considered by many the most reasonable solution to end the conflict.
The Kingdom of Morocco always promoted peace throughout the world, more especially in North Africa, and the international community ought to realize now and more than ever that it is vital to the world's peace and stability to support Morocco in its efforts to end the ongoing conflict. The Front of "Polisario" became more like a terrorist organization than a liberation front with many of its members involved in terrorist attacks and kidnappings in the Sahel, Northern Mali and Mauritania. Security and stability are more likely to be sustained in North Africa and Sahel under a strong partnership with a well-established regime than bargaining on a group of vagabonds roaming the deserts for a failed cause.
