Ministry Leaders Sam, Jeanne & Josh Mayo Join Atlanta-area Victory World Church
Mayos to Serve in Pastoral Care, Youth and Young Adults Ministry

NORCROSS, Ga., April 23, 2012 /Standard Newswire/ -- Victory World Church, a multi-cultural church with campuses in the suburbs of Atlanta, announced today the addition of nationally recognized ministry leaders and international speakers Sam, Jeanne and Josh Mayo to its staff. The Mayos will join the church beginning in July.

Victory was founded in 1990 by Dennis and Colleen Rouse with a vision to bridge the gap between the nations and generations. Today, the ministry of Victory spans the globe with orphanages, churches, schools and missions training bases in places like India, Africa, Nicaragua and Mexico. The church is known locally as a community-oriented worship center that is active in outreach to the city through local missions, awareness and volunteerism.

"What God has done over these last 22 years at Victory has been nothing short of astounding, and He continues to bless our church," said Dennis Rouse. "At the core of our ministry has always been the desire to bridge cultural gaps including those that exist between the generations. The Mayos are uniquely gifted to further cultivate the multi-generational vision of the church. We are excited and honored that Sam, Jeanne and Josh have decided to bring their individual gifts and expertise to our team to help us better serve our community."

Sam, along with his wife Jeanne, will transition from their current roles at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, where Sam has been Senior Pastor for nine years.

"It has been my privilege to serve in fulltime pastoral ministry for the past 47 years," said Sam. "Now in my late 60s and having seen The Tabernacle develop in a flourishing way, I believe God is calling me to step aside from my role as Senior Pastor and allow another person to lead The Tabernacle into its next exciting season of expansion. I am deeply motivated about this new opportunity at Victory, which will allow me to minister to others in my same season of life."

Having been in ministry for more than four decades, Sam's new role as Director of Mercy Team Ministries at Victory will allow him to continue serving within the Pastoral Care Department. In addition, recognizing the need to minister to the growing baby-boomer generation who often feel disconnected from the church once their children are grown, Sam will develop a Victory program dedicated to individuals in their 50s and 60s who want to make an impact during this unique stage of life.

Jeanne is an international speaker and author through the non-profit mentoring organization she founded, Youth Leader's Coach. She has been acclaimed by Ministries Today Magazine as "America's No. 1 Youth Pastor," and will also join the Victory staff as Executive Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries. In this capacity, she will help lead the 212 Youth and Fusion Young Adult Ministries. In addition, she will blend her own Master's Commission Atlanta program with the existing Master's Commission program at Victory helping to grow the nine-month discipleship and leadership development institute within the church.

"While I gain joy from speaking internationally, my greatest fulfillment is found in serving the local church," Jeanne said, "I have a heart for developing leaders and encouraging youth and young adults with the local church. I'm honored to continue this at Victory."

Sam and Jeanne's eldest son, Josh, is an international speaker and four-time author who has been in youth ministry for 13 years. He currently serves as Youth Pastor at Harvest Time Church in Fort Smith, Ark. Josh will join the Victory team as Youth Pastor of the Victory at Hamilton Mill campus in Buford.
