LOS ANGELES, Dec. 6, 2013 /Standard Newswire/ -- Trinity Broadcasting Network, the world's largest Christian broadcaster and America's most-watched faith channel, will broadcast a special celebration of the life of TBN founder Dr. Paul Crouch, who died November 30th at the age of 79 following a decade-long battle with heart disease. The three-hour program, which will take a look back at Dr. Crouch's life and ministry, as well as the founding and phenomenal growth of TBN over the past forty years, will air Sunday, December 8th, at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. (Pacific), and Monday, December 9th, at 2 p.m. (Pacific).

In addition to a poignant retrospective on the life and legacy of Dr. Crouch, the program will include video messages and remembrances from the pastors, ministry leaders, and other who partnered with Paul and Jan Crouch to give TBN the global impact that it has today. "My father forged some deep and lasting friendships over the years with many men and women who partnered with him and my Mom to take the gospel to every corner of the earth," recalled TBN Vice President Matthew Crouch. "We look forward to hearing from many of those individuals in this celebration of the life of Paul Crouch."

Besides the scores of memorials sent by pastors and ministry leaders in the days following Dr. Crouch's passing (go to PaulCrouch.com to read them), thousands of viewers, partners, and friends logged on to TBN's Facebook page to post their condolences, and to express how Dr. Crouch and TBN have impacted their lives. Here is a small sampling:

  • "It was through TBN that I became a follower of Jesus. And in the years since that decision the programs on the network have helped me grow closer to God and deal with the hard seasons in life. I thank God for this faithful ministry and the way it has encouraged me." -- from New Orleans, Louisiana

  • "Because of my disabilities I cannot leave my home, but I have always felt like TBN is my 'family.' The powerful programs which are broadcast every day have been a great comfort to me in those times when I feel alone. Dr. Crouch helped me realize that we have power in our lives when we bless the Lord at all times. I can say that my life is so much better because of TBN and I pray that the ministry will keep growing and bring the good news of the gospel to all people everywhere." -- from Atlanta, Georgia

  • "Following a long-term prison sentence I was hungry for God, and TBN became my church and pastor until I was able to find a place to attend every Sunday. The programs helped me learn more about Jesus and slowly the hurts and pains in my life were healed. I loved watching Dr. Crouch on Behind the Scenes because he was always so encouraging and I felt that I was part of the TBN family. While I will miss his daily presence, I know God welcomed him into heaven with open arms. God bless TBN as it goes forward!" -- from Dallas, Texas

In addition to the upcoming celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Crouch, TBN has produced a short remembrance of the its founder, which can be viewed at the online network iTBN.org.
