CityFest with Andrew Palau Set to Bring Thousands Together in Lane County for a Day of Fun and Good News on July 28
Contact: Jay Fordice, Luis Palau Association, 503-614-1500

EUGENE, Ore., July 19, 2018 /Standard Newswire/ -- Thousands are expected to gather next Saturday, July 28, at PK Park, in Eugene, Oregon, for CityFest with Andrew Palau. The free, family-fun festival is focused on serving Lane County and sharing a clear message of hope with the entire region.

For months, individuals and organizations in Lane County have come together in this unique partnership between churches, businesses, organizations, city leaders, and the Luis Palau Association, focusing on serving those in need of physical, emotional, and spiritual support. In the months leading up to the festival, CityServe has blessed the community through hundreds of projects in Eugene, Springfield, and the surrounding valley. The focus event at PK Park will celebrate this amazing effort.

CityFest is being produced by the Portland-based Luis Palau Association with the support of 115 area churches and contributions from local businesses, foundations, and individuals. The event will also feature some of the biggest names in contemporary Christian music, including TobyMac, Rend Collective, and Tedashii. Global evangelist Andrew Palau will share his story – which has strong ties to Eugene.

"There are so many emotions wrapped up in this festival for me," Andrew Palau said. "I went to school at the University of Oregon. Back then I wasn't walking with the Lord. I can still remember what life was like back then when I was far from God. Total despair. Completely hopeless. Afraid to be alone with my thoughts. It wasn't until the age of 27 when I finally surrendered my life to Jesus. It was at a festival just like this one. It's such a privilege to return to Eugene to share this message of hope . . . to tell those hurting of the radical transformation God can bring."

His story is detailed in his 2012 book "The Secret Life of a Fool: One Man's Journey from Shame to Grace." For more information on the event at PK Park, visit CityFest.org.
