NORCROSS, Ga., March 2, 2016 /Standard Newswire/ -- Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) thanks Georgia voters for separating truth from pandering and giving Texas U.S. Senator Ted Cruz a solid showing in today's Republican Presidential Primary.

"Senator Cruz has a strong record of standing up for all innocent human life," said Genevieve Wilson, Vice Chairman GRTL's Political Action Committee (GRTL PAC). "Tuesday's result shows those views have widespread support among Georgia voters."

With enough precincts counted to predict the final outcome, Sen. Cruz was projected to finish second with an estimated 24 percent of the vote.

"Senator Cruz is solidly pro-life and the only presidential candidate who sought—and obtained—GRTL PAC's endorsement," Wilson said. "Our prayer is that pro-life advocates in states that haven't held their primaries yet will rally to Senator Cruz—thousands of innocent lives depend on it."

Wilson noted that many of the candidates claim to be pro-life, but only Senator Cruz has the track record to back it up.

Senator Cruz's pro-life results include the following:

• Leading the charge on behalf of 13 states in successfully defending the federal Partial Birth Abortion Act before the U.S. Supreme Court.
   
• Joining 18 states in successfully defending New Hampshire's Parental Notification Act before the U.S. Supreme Court.
   
• Successfully defending a Texas law that prevents state funds from being sent to organizations that perform abortions.
   
• Calling for the defunding of Planned Parenthood amid charges that the abortion giant sells aborted body parts.
