SEBASTOPOL, Calif., April 29, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ -- Each May, women from across California gather beneath the towering redwoods of Sonoma County for an unforgettable weekend of worship, encouragement, and authentic fellowship. Hosted at Mt. Gilead Bible Camp, the Annual Women’s Retreat invites women of all ages to step away from life’s demands and experience the peaceful, faithful presence of God.

Through heartfelt worship, meaningful teachings, breakout seminars, and shared meals, we come together to draw closer to Christ and build friendships that last far beyond the weekend. This year, we will anchor our hearts in a truth that feels especially timely: Having an ‘Even If’ faith. This beautiful theme is drawn from the tender yet powerful words of Habakkuk 3:17–18:

"Even if the fig tree does not blossom, and there is no fruit on the vines, if the olive crop fails, and the fields yield no food, even if the flock disappears from the fold, and there are no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in the God of my salvation."

Whatever season you find yourself in, whether in abundance or longing, we are reminded that God's goodness never changes — even if.

This year’s keynote speaker, Sharon Sands, brings over 30 years of ministry experience, marked by a life anchored in God’s unwavering grace through seasons of both happiness and hardship. We’re also blessed to welcome Dawn Gould, a faithful voice and servant at Mt. Gilead, who will gently lead our pre-conference gathering, inviting us to step away from hurried schedules and into the restful presence of Christ.

Throughout the weekend, worship will be led by Mickie Cazet, Makenna Overzet, and Sandi King — faithful women who pour love and Scripture into every note and lyric.

Beyond the sessions, laughter will echo across the pickleball courts and archery field, hands will create beautiful mosaic art, and friends — old and new — will gather around steaming cups of coffee under the trees. These quiet, joy-filled moments are often the ones that heal the deepest parts of our hearts.

For those new to Mt. Gilead Bible Camp, this is not just another Christian women’s retreat in California. Since 1963, Mt. Gilead has been a cherished place of renewal and belonging for churches and individuals across Northern California. Under the ancient shelter of the redwoods, thousands have been reminded that God sees us, He cares for us, and He remains faithful in every season.
