LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 19, 2019 /Standard Newswire/ -- Goodness Reigns is excited to announce the debut of its 2019 People's Choice webpage, which contains short videos created by and for youth and young adults as a means to evangelize the world.

Everyone is invited to watch and vote for his or her favorite short films at GR 2019 Entries until Midnight on March 25. The filmmaker receiving the most "Likes" on the YouTube site will be dubbed the People's Choice winner and receive $500 in cash. Once the contest ends, all films will remain online. This growing repository of short films for the general public will help illustrate humanity's goodness, particularly springing forth from the Christian faith.

Judges' comments of this year's films have praised participating filmmakers who come from faraway places such as Colombia and Russia. "Great to hear a story of someone inspired and how they stepped out in faith to God's calling," said award-winning filmmaker Shawn Justice after viewing Ria Mary Vaniapurackal's film from India, "Navajeevan: New Life in Christ."

Filmmakers, from beginners to experts ages 14 and older from around the world, submitted their videos for the Goodness Reigns: Share the Story short film contest. Contest winners were announced earlier this year as part of World Youth Day 2019 in Panama City, Panama. For more information about the contest, visit www.GoodnessReigns-Contest.com.

Here are the top films from the 2019 Share the Story Contest:

  • Missionary Spirit Category: Jiji Kalavanal, SDB, of Kerala, India, "I Was Hungry and You Gave Me to Eat"

  • Over 18 Category: Cristian García Zelada of Colombia, South America, "Conversación"

  • 18 and Under Category: Kateri Esposito of Virginia Beach, Virginia USA "Beacon of Hope"

  • Music Video Category: Ricky McRoskey of Bridgeport, Connecticut USA "When Coffee Is Like Mud"

Goodness Reigns, Inc. wishes to thank Our Sunday Visitor OSV.com for its funding of this and past film contests. Their support allows us to engage and inspire youth to explore the Catholic-Christian faith through the creation of media, which is then made available online for free. To help grow digital witnesses with filmmaking skills, Goodness Reigns also offers the free online Goodness Reigns Film School.
