NASA Traveling Exhibit Will Be on Display at American Heritage Girls' 20th Anniversary National Convention
Contact: Jennifer Troutman, American Heritage Girls, 513-771-2025 ext. 111ANDERSON, Ind., June 17, 2015 /Standard Newswire/ -- Journey to Tomorrow, one of NASA's premier traveling exhibits, will be onsite at the American Heritage Girls' 20th anniversary national convention June 24-27 at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana.
The space exhibit, housed in a 53-foot trailer, includes eight interactive kiosks that give visitors a chance to explore at their own pace. Examples include Improving Today's Flight, NASA Home and City, which highlights spinoff products created from NASA's research programs; Sci-Fi vs. Science Fact; Brain Bites that explain common questions people have about air and space travel; a lunar landing simulator; and Dynamic Planet, a hands-on interactive that allows participants to explore the earth, sun and solar system.
A display case features models that keep the learning in three dimensions. Models may include various NASA X-Planes, the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle or NASA's new rocket, the Space Launch System. The ultimate artifact is a real moon rock returned from one of the Apollo lunar landing missions. The exhibit will be staffed by NASA employees.

The 20th anniversary convention is the largest national event to date for AHG members and volunteers, with about 2,000 attendees expected. During this four-day conference, girls and adults will choose from more than 60 workshops organized to empower and engage future girl leaders.
American Heritage Girls (AHG) is a character-development organization for girls ages five through 18 and is widely known as a Christian alternative to the Girl Scouts.
