SAN BERNARDINO, March 12, 2018 /Standard Newswire/ -- For the first time in the history of Worldwide Marriage Encounter conventions, the upcoming 50th Anniversary Convention has been sold out four months in advance, but an on-site live stream convention opportunity has been announced by Peter & Sheila Oprysko and Fr. Tom Griffith, SVD, the convention leadership team.
"We thank you everyone for your blessings and understanding as we proclaim that the 50th Anniversary WWME Convention has been sold out. It is the first time in the history of WWME that a convention has been full four months prior to the event. We understand that some people were disappointed that they could not be there in person, and we have worked very hard to explore every way possible to bring more sacraments to this once in a lifetime event," the convention leadership team said.
"With that thought in mind an email has gone out offering first refusal to those on the convention waitlist to purchase an "Onsite Live Stream" option for $150 per couple for the Convention," they added.
Additional space at the Westin Lombard, Illinois venue will be dedicated to showing the live video feed of the Convention. This gives more people the opportunity to experience the excitement and energy of this groundbreaking event live and in person.
The price for the Onsite Live Stream program is $150. All Onsite Live Stream attendees will get: the Official Convention Welcome Bag, access to the Onsite Viewing Room to view all general sessions and liturgies, entry and participation in the breakout sessions, access to all Convention vendors and access to the Saturday Evening Celebration after 9:00 PM.
Space for the Onsite Live Steam is limited to 300 people and is available on a first come, first serve basis. Should space open in the Full Convention option due to cancellations, Onsite Live Stream attendees will be given the opportunity to upgrade at the Convention.
"We want to stress that there are only 300 seats available and none will be added! We have filled all public spaces in the venue with the Convention." the Opryskos and Fr. Griffith added.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter has been offering weekend experiences for over 50 years and is considered the original faith-based marriage enrichment program. The programs are continually updated to keep abreast of changes in society, and WWME now offers evening and half-day programs that are presented at parishes and other church facilities. The weekend program, traditionally presented as an overnight experience at a hotel or retreat center, can also be presented at the parish where the couples return to their homes in the evenings. WWME has a presence in almost 100 countries, which makes it the largest pro-marriage movement in the world. In North America, the WWME programs are presented in English, Spanish, French, and Korean languages.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter offers married couples the opportunity to spend time together away from the busyness of the world to focus on each other. Priests are also encouraged to attend a WWME weekend, which offers insights into their relationship with the church and their parishioners, and how their Sacrament of Holy Orders interacts with the Sacrament of Matrimony. WWME offers tools for building and maintaining a strong, Christian marriage in today's world.
