GMC's First World Premiere Christmas Movie, Christmas with a Capital C, Earns Parents Television Council Seal of Approval(tm)

Contact: Mark Braff, 201-612-0707

ATLANTA, Dec. 2, 2010 /Standard Newswire/ -- GMC, America's favorite channel for uplifting music and family entertainment, announced today that its first World Premiere Christmas Movie, Christmas with a Capital C, has been awarded the coveted PTC Seal of Approval™ by the Parents Television Council. The movie will air on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. ET with encores that night at 9 and 11.

The movie is based on the song "Christmas with a Capital C" by the Contemporary Christian band Go Fish, whose video for the song has received more than 15 million views online.

In awarding its PTC Seal of Approval to Christmas with a Capital C, the PTC wrote: "Christmas with a Capital C is unapologetic in its position on the importance of Christian customs and traditions in the public square, at Christmas and year-round; but it also demonstrates the importance of Christian compassion for others, and of making a genuine effort to understand them. Because of its emphasis on family-friendly values, the Parents Television Council is proud to award Christmas with a Capital C with the PTC Seal of Approval." The full review can be seen here

In the film, 'tis the season to be jolly, but holiday traditions are under attack when lawyer Mitch Bright returns to his hometown of Trapper Falls, Alaska. Residents of the small town who once looked forward to each year with enthusiasm and taking great care to drape the town with Christmas cheer every season, find themselves in the heat of a legal battle with a former member of their community. Christmas with a Capital C stars Daniel Baldwin (Cold Case) as Mitch Bright and Ted McGinley (Married with Children) as Mayor Dan Reed. A high school rivalry between the two re-ignites over a nativity scene in the town square. Nancy Stafford plays Reed's wife. Brad Stine plays Reed's brother.

Christmas with a Capital C is written by Andrea Gyertson Nasfell and directed by Helmut Schleppi. James Chankin, Michael Scott and David Cuddy are producers. Visit www.watchgmctv.com.
