Highest Award Revealed in Video for Trail Life USA Boys Program
Contact: Shawn Graham, 321-247-7761 ext 472, Media@TrailLifeUSA.com

ORLANDO, Fla., May 15, 2014 /Standard Newswire/ -- Trail Life USA (TLUSA), the Christian character, leadership, and adventure organization for boys, publicly released graphics for its highest honor-the Freedom Award-through a powerful video (see it here). The organization was formally launched on January 1, 2014 and in the first 135 days has established 360 officially chartered troops in 45 states with another 300+ Troops in the process of chartering. Trail Life USA has seen tremendous growth, chartering an average of nineteen Troops per week since its inception.

The Freedom Award is the highest honor awarded in Trail Life USA. Earning the award involves community service, faith studies, obtaining several skill-based Trail Badges, camping requirements, and challenging "majors and minors" college or vocation-like mentorship experiences.

TLUSA Board member David Servin of Pennsylvania, one of the primary developers of the program elements in TLUSA, had this to say about the Award, "The Freedom Award recognizes the young man who has lived the Trail Life, exemplifies the Trail Life USA Oath and Motto, developed his faith, character, and leadership skills, and is thoroughly equipped to chart his own trail through life with honor and purpose."

The Award design is rich in imagery, with an entire document (here) dedicated to providing detail on the design and symbolism. Crossed keys, a stag, shield, and sword adorn the background of a mountain range that has been named, "The Trinity Peaks."

Epic music accompanies the video reveal of the design elements, along with Bible scriptures that explain their significance.

Recipients of the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout award who become TLUSA members are eligible to pursue certain additional requirements to also earn the Freedom Award.

Trail Life USA leaders decided to launch the graphics through an email linking to the video, rather than continue to roll it out slowly through nine Trail Leader Trainings taking place from coast-to-coast.

"The excitement around the Freedom Award has been amazing," said Mark Hancock, CEO of TLUSA. "We have already approached various colleges around the country about offering scholarships to those who earn this elite award. The design and meaning behind this award will prove to be a timeless and sought after prize by young men for many years into the future."
