ROI Ministry Joins Faith Comes By Hearing at Mexico City Launch of the Spanish Audio Bible -- Biblia de América

Contact: Tim Barker, 678-264-7587

ATLANTA, Dec. 18, 2012 /Standard Newswire/ -- ROI Ministry exists to provide kingdom investors with guidance for their charitable giving by partnering them with the most measurably effective ministries in the world.  It is the organization's belief that if people guide their resources to the most effective ministries, the completion of the Great Commission is within reach.  One of their Top 10 ministries is Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH), an audio Bible ministry based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  ROI recognizes FCBH for their ability to provide access to God's Word in audio for only $1.75 per person through a digital device called the Proclaimer.  FCBH can provide the complete New Testament on the device in nearly 700 languages.

Recently, leaders from both organizations traveled to Mexico City for the launch of the Biblia de América audio Bible, which is the most widely-used Spanish translation in Latin America.  A Catholic-approved translation, the recording was endorsed by the Vatican and the ceremony was officiated by Cardinal Rivera, head of the Mexico archdiocese.  The launch brought an audience that crossed denominational boundaries as David Mimms -- an ROI board member from Georgia who is a Southern Baptist -- and other Protestants in attendance joined the Cardinal in celebrating the release.  Their commonality is the strong desire to provide God’s Word to 300 million Spanish speakers in Latin America.

Of note, Mimms' son-in-law, Leo Terrazas, is from Mexico and is the voice of the narrator for the book of Jude in the recording.

Made up of prominent Christian business leaders, the ROI board was excited to see how Faith Comes By Hearing's work as an ecumenical organization allows broader access to provide the Word of God throughout the world.  As an example, FCBH is discussing the possibility of providing the Biblia de América recording to soldiers in the Mexican army via Military BibleSticks -- an outreach they have provided to the American military since 2008.  The ministry currently has contacts in Mexico that are researching funding for this possible partnership.

Tim Barker, Executive Director of ROI Ministry and member of North Point Community Church, has a personal experience in working across denominations.  He was raised Catholic and His parents are great Christian examples by being in God’s word daily, professing saved by grace Catholics and to this day very active in their local Church.  Barker specifically recalls as a youth when his father took their family to help a close friend -- a Baptist pastor -- by serving in his Church for a year.

Barker explains, "My parents personally demonstrated the spirit of Christianity.  That is why I personally, and ROI Ministry, could not be more excited to have played a very small part in this God ordained bridge of two great Christian faiths sharing the whole reason we celebrate this season, Jesus Christ."

ROI Ministry, with the help of the largest Christian foundations, exhaustive World Christian Trend research, and with very strategic Kingdom investors, are able to identify ministries that are experiencing phenomenal reaping seasons of abundant lasting fruit.  For more information, visit www.roiministry.org.
