Verna sang her southern rendition of 'Are You Washed in the Blood of the Lamb' with quite a southern flare. This unique rendition features the Triumphant Quartet and Sisters. The quartet was nominated for a Grammy Award and both groups are on Daywind Records. The traditional hymn from Verna's CD O Blessed Jesus also features Nashville's guitarist Kelly Back who played a phenomenal arrangement of Bob Wooten's guitar solo in Johnny Cash's hit 'Folsom Prison.'

Bob Wooten, member of the Tennessee Three, was being considered for the part. Though Bob was not selected, he was gracious in granting permission for his arrangement of the 'Folsom Prison' guitar solo to be used in Verna's rendition of 'Are You Washed in the Blood of the Lamb.'

Bob Wooten and the Tennessee Three continue to remain friends with Verna Linzey and her son James Linzey who facilitated in getting them booked to perform for the Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

As Verna was introduced and walked on stage a presence of awe filled the air. She emitted a sense of deep, abiding gracefulness, something deeply spiritual that people wanted. When she addressed the crowd, a great hush came over the crowd as her words ministered to those present.

Verna simply brought the house down with her performance. Her stunning appearance and performance at 96 years of age was so moving that one woman in the church shouted "I've just got to hug her" as Verna came off the stage. The woman ran toward the stage and hugged her as the congregation applauded, conveying great emotion.

The concert was part of Jimmie Rodgers' tour of churches throughout America, sharing testimony and a wide repertoire of songs, spirituals, hymns, and hits that made America great. He is signing a contract with a movie company to make a major feature film based on his biography Dancing with the Moon.

Verna, writer of 'O Blessed Jesus,' remains in great demand. The appeal of her recordings has increased as many surrounded her table to purchase her CD O Blessed Jesus.

Verna Linzey is an author, evangelist, movie actress, Assemblies of God minister, and Bible translator.
