Oklahoma Legislatures Receive Key to the City of Efrat

EFRAT, Israel, Oct. 22, 2013 /Standard Newswire/ -- In a dinner this week honoring the Oklahoma House State Legislature for their staunch support for Israel, Mayor of Efrat Oded Revivi and Shlomo Riskin, Chief Rabbi of Efrat and Founder of the Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation, presented the House of Representatives Israel Delegation with a Key to the City of Efrat. "They have proven to be a true friend and this is our way to demonstrate Israel's appreciation for their support," Revivi said.

This year, the Oklahoma House State Legislature passed a unanimous resolution affirming that the State of Israel is "the national home for the Jewish people in the historical regions of the Land of Israel, including the areas of Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem." Continuing their steadfast support for Israel, a House delegation decided to come to Israel last week and learn more about the latest issues affecting the country and present their resolution to the Knesset, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister's office.

The Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation and Zion's Gate International sponsored a farewell dinner to express appreciation for the elected officials' courageous step in supporting the country. "In a time where Israel may feel isolated on the world stage, these Bible believing Christians that are in positions of government unequivocally declared their support for God's consecrated land," co-founder of Zion's Gate International Connie Bachman remarked. Rabbi Riskin added, "The resolution is more than just a political statement; it is a sacred document that affirms our Scriptural right to the land."
